Rachael Haynes scores 82 from 89 balls in four-wicket win against New Zealand

Sydney Thunder WBBL captain Rachael Haynes continued her impressive form during Australia’s One-Day victory over New Zealand, in Brisbane, on Monday.

Haynes reached fifty for the 17th time in One-Day or T20 International cricket hitting 13 fours and one six in the successful chase.

Including the preceding T20 series, the Australian vice-captain has averaged 48 across the five matches against New Zealand at Allan Border Field in the last fortnight.

Haynes shared a 117-run partnership with Australian captain and centurion Meg Lanning (101 not out) on Monday.

Australia finished 6/255 in reply to 9/252. The win sealed the Rose Bowl series with one match remaining on Wednesday at AB Field.

Haynes will begin her second season as Sydney Thunder’s WBBL captain on October 25 when her side meets cross-town rivals, the Sydney Sixers.
