TGI Sport has acquired Insignia Sports International, the company announced today.

TGI adds Insignia to its international network of recent acquisitions including European-based tech-led media rights and virtual production agency ISG, New York-based virtual advertising solution provider Brand Brigade, UK-based Media Sales agency Sportseen, leading Australian sports agency TLA and talent management company SFX Sports Group.  TGI Sport is owned jointly by Bruin Capital and Quadrant Private Equity.

Martin Jolly, Global CEO at TGI Sport, said: “We see TGI Sport as a natural fit to take Insignia forward and strengthen our offering and I am delighted to welcome Insignia Founder and Managing Director, Eddie Tolchard, and his team to TGI Sport.  Adding Insignia’s talent to our existing client list will see TGI Sport become the leading cricket talent agency globally.  This will maximise our presence in a sport that we are heavily involved in through player representation, commercial partnerships, media and technology.

“This purchase, coupled with the work TGI Sport already undertakes in cricket through our technology partnerships, digital teams, sponsorships, events and consultancy, demonstrates TGI’s commitment to the sport at all levels. With a client base that includes the ECB, Cricket Australia, the ICC, Cricket West Indies, Major League Cricket and Cricket South Africa, TGI Sport offers truly global solutions for any brand looking to invest in cricket.”

Phil Weston, Head of Cricket at TGI Sport whose player roster includes England’s Harry Brook, added: “With some of the leading names in world Cricket in both the male and female games, including Kieron Pollard, Rashid Khan, Jofra Archer and Sophie Devine, we are merging two of the most significant cricket talent businesses in the world which will result in unrivalled opportunities for the clients we represent, both on and off the pitch.

“The two businesses complement each other well, sharing the same values and work ethic.  I am excited to see our business continue to grow and look forward to working together to deliver amplified outcomes for our clients.”

Insignia, led by Eddie Tolchard and operating from their office at Kia Oval in London with a new partnership business based in South Africa, is a dedicated cricket management business with a strong national and international client roster. With over 50 years of experience and an excellent track record, the team manages some of the world’s biggest players, in addition to a strong list of coaching and broadcasting and media clients.

Commenting on the acquisition, Eddie Tolchard, Insignia MD, said: ““Insignia has always been a client-first business that prides itself on leading the way in terms of international cricket management. The landscape in which we operate is moving at a rapid pace, which means that the service and expertise that elite cricketers need to surround themselves with are also evolving. Combining what we already have with the additional support and resources of the global powerhouse TGI Sport will ensure that we can continue to deliver a world-class, forward-thinking, and proactive service that allows our clients to thrive. It’s a very exciting time for everyone involved.”
