About the organization
The Royal Dutch Cricket Association (KNCB) is responsible for the organization and development of cricket in the Netherlands. The KNCB is a member of NOC*NSF and the International Cricket Council (ICC). Cricket is the second largest sport in the world and will be an Olympic sport from 2028! Our national teams (m/f) are among the top 15 in the world and we also want to use the success of our top players in our own country to grow to 40% of active cricketers, with a strong focus on women and youth participation. We also want to increase the number of cricket clubs so that there is good access and representation of our sport of cricket in all regions.
Your role
You have an active role in organizing all kinds of activities that should lead to a visible increase in women and youth members at the cricket clubs. It is therefore important that you provide tailor-made support and assistance to achieve this growth within their club. You use the knowledge, expertise and tools that the KNCB, women and youth committee has available, but you also use the expertise and tools of the international network via the ICC, which launched the 100% cricket campaign last year. You play an active role towards the cricket clubs in promoting, making available and unlocking information and offering tools and tailor-made solutions to contribute to the growth ambitions together with the clubs.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Organizing meetings and activities for knowledge sharing and introduction to cricket.
- Mobilizing and activating sounding board groups with youth and/or women intended as an expertise panel for our recruitment method and activities.
- Planned organization of sports promotion activities aimed at the cricket participation of women and youth.
- Maintaining (in collaboration with the association office and volunteers) close contacts with associations and members.
- Sharing good practices and encouraging mutual cooperation between clubs.
- Implementing and further developing the Cricket4KIDS, Cricket4YOU and women’s cricket action plans, with a focus on realizing partnerships (including with municipalities, sports service organizations, schools and cricket clubs).
- Recruiting and encouraging women to participate in the training offered for coaches, umpires and scorers.
- Initiating and organizing structured meetings with the committees involved and offering them support in their volunteer role.
Your profile
You are an enthusiastic team player who feels at home in the dynamics of a union organization. Of course you have an affinity with (top) sports and exercise; and are you familiar with the sport of cricket?
- HBO working and thinking level.
- Relevant and demonstrable work experience in a similar position.
- You are someone who easily makes contact and can build lasting relationships.
- You can convey your message clearly and convincingly.
- Creative and innovative in exploring new paths to achieve growth results.
- You work in a structured way and can set priorities.
- You have strong communication skills, both in Dutch and English.
- You are in possession of a valid driving license B.
What do we offer?
A varied independent position. You will work in an attractive office environment in the Amsterdamse Bos in Amstelveen together with enthusiastic and driven colleagues.
- A temporary appointment of 12 months with the intention of a longer collaboration, based on 1.0 FTE. per week or a corresponding assignment agreement.
- An appropriate salary scale or comparable compensation based on scale 8 of the Sports Collective Labor Agreement (depending on experience and education).
- A travel allowance based on 21 cents per kilometer.
- Hybrid working.
