Titans Cricket is delighted to announce the appointment of Gordon ‘Moose’ Matheson as the new Head Coach of the Fidelity Titans.
With a resounding coaching career that began in 2001, Matheson brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success across various levels and age groups. His most recent role as the Head Coach of Mpumalanga Rhino’s men’s team has prepared him well for this exciting new chapter.
Matheson shared his excitement about joining the Titans, saying, “I was over the moon when I received the call. Titans is a world-class franchise, so I’m really chuffed to be a part of the team.” His enthusiasm and commitment to this new role is evident, and the Sky Blues are confident that his leadership will bring new energy and success to our team.
In an era where women’s cricket is rapidly evolving, Matheson is particularly enthusiastic about contributing to its growth. He remarked, “The women’s space is growing and evolving quickly, and I’m excited to add some professionalism to it.”
Matheson’s ambition is clear: “I want to turn the women’s team into a championship team.”
Titans Women’s Team Manager, Karen Smithies, expressed her excitement for Matheson’s appointment: “We are absolutely delighted to have Gordon on board. His experience and vision for the team are exactly what we need. I’m looking forward to seeing where he will take our ladies team.”
Dr. Jacques Faul, Titans Cricket CEO, also shared his thoughts on Matheson’s appointment: “Gordon Matheson is a highly respected coach with a deep understanding of the game. His track record speaks for itself, and we believe he will bring a new level of professionalism and success to our women’s team.”
