The Momentum Multiply Titans will take a trip to the Western Cape for their third and fourth round matches in the CSA One Day Cup.
First up the Sky Blues will come up against the Paarl Rocks on Friday, 9 December and then Western Province Blitz on Sunday 11 December.
Having won one and lost one so far in the competition the Titans will be happy with how they bounced back following the 38-run defeat against the Lions in their opening match.
“We got our first rusty game out of the way against the Lions and I think for the next coming games it’s going to be important for the team to be consistent in terms of performance; and from there we’ll try to make sure we on the positive side of the result.” Said Titans captain Sibonelo Makhanya.
The defeat against the Lions would’ve provided the Titans an opportunity to reflect and recalibrate ahead of the match against the Warriors and the following games.
There was a much-improved performance from the Titans with the bat against the Warriors and the shining light in their first two games was Aiden Markram who contributed 80 and 89.
Markram has knack of scoring runs when playing for the Titans and they’ll appreciate his contributions in the competition when he steps out in Sky Blue.
“It’s always special to come back here, it’s a great place to play your cricket with a great bunch of guys and I’m very happy to be back here.” Aiden Markram said with a smile.
The Titans would’ve enjoyed playing in front of a sizeable crowd and the familiar environment at SuperSport Park but will have to adjust accordingly to the conditions down in the Western Cape.
“The Cape Town leg is a very important leg for us because we need to decide where we need to see ourselves after those two games. We have to make sure we bring our best game by game, starting on Friday and then on Sunday.” Explained Head Coach Mandla Mashimbyi.
