The England Cricket Board (ECB) prohibited its players from participating in franchise leagues, including the Pakistan Super League (PSL), due to domestic commitments. However, some players have disregarded the restriction.
Recently, England’s fast bowler David Willey, opener Jason Roy, and all-rounders David and Sam Curran officially registered for the PSL draft.
Other notable international players include Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza, Australian wicketkeeper Alex Carey, and Bangladesh stars Mustafizur Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan. The PCB has also confirmed England’s David Willey and Australia’s Usman Khawaja among the foreign player entries for the draft.
The PSL 10 player draft will take place on January 11 in Gwadar.
The draft order has been announced, with Lahore Qalandars, the two-time champions, securing the first pick in the platinum category. Karachi Kings will follow, with Quetta Gladiators picking third and Peshawar Zalmi fourth. Multan Sultans, last season’s runners-up, and reigning champions Islamabad United will make the fifth and sixth picks, respectively.
