WA Cricket is pleased to be hosting Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur at the WACA Ground for their upcoming visit to Perth.
The Spurs will use the iconic ground as their training base from July 16 – 21 and will open a training session to fans on July 17 as part of their pre-season Asia-Pacific Tour.
Postecoglou will return home as Tottenham’s new Head Coach, and football fans will be able to see him and the team in action at the WACA Ground ahead of the friendly against West Ham United the following night at Optus Stadium.
The pre-season tour marks the first time Tottenham have travelled to Australia since 2016 when they played friendlies against Juventus and Atletico Madrid in Melbourne.
Tottenham have a rich history in football, winning the English First Division (now Premier League) twice, along with eight FA Cups, four League Cups, seven FA Community Shields, one European Cup Winners’ Cup, and two UEFA Cups.
Acting WA Cricket CEO Justin Michael said this announcement further cemented the WACA Ground’s status as a top tier sporting destination.
“We are thrilled that Tottenham will train at the WACA Ground during their time in Perth and we are looking forward to opening the gates to football fans for an open training session,” Michael said.
“We are ready to welcome another formidable Premier League side to our iconic ground and we eagerly await the arrival of the Spurs.”
“This is a testament to the work we are undertaking with the WACA Ground Improvement Project to transform the WACA Ground into a multi-purpose year-round venue.”
Open training tickets are just $5 each and are available to purchase here.
