The Hollywoodbets Tuskers sealed their CSA One-Day Cup campaign today, claiming the title as the only undefeated side in the competition.

Tuskers were crowned Division Two CSA One-Day Cup champions after securing a five-wicket victory against the Northern Cape Heat at the Pietermaritzburg Oval.

The hosts won the toss and elected to bowl first, restricting their opponents to 254/7 at the end of their innings.

Seemed a defendable total, but the Tuskers batters set themselves up for a comfortable chase.

Opener, Tshepang Dithole fell short of a century by just seven runs, caught by Beyers Swanepoel off Ernest Kemm in the 36th over.

Dithole’s 93 runs guided the Tuskers in their chase with partnerships that took the home-side over the line. A 53-run stand with Cameron Delport (26), and 48 runs with Luke Schlemmer (23) took the team closer to the target.

Skipper, Michael Erlank, brought the game home with an unbeaten 53*, supported by Kyle Nipper (22*) at the end as Tuskers were 255/5 in 48 overs.

Ernest Kemm (2/21), also dismissed Tian Koekemoer (17), whilst Evan Jones (2/43), claimed the wickets of Schlemmer and Andile Mogakane (6).

The Heat were put to the bat first by hosts, with enough runs to set a defendable total.

Solid contributions from Rivaldo Moonsamy, who top scored with 77 runs, an unbeaten 59* from Victor Mahlangu and Jonathan Vandiar (46), saw the Heat end their innings on 254/7.

The three batters did well to stand the attack of Keith Dudgeon, who claimed three wickets, dismissing Ernest Kemm (0), Evan Jones (12), and Hanu Viljoen (22).

Nduduzo Mfoza dismissed Moonsamy and Aubrey Swanepoel (5), whilst Thula Ngcobo and Zac Paruk claimed one wicket each.
