  • Volunteers of the Year to be recognized annually by USA Cricket
  • Inaugural winners have been chosen from hundreds of nominations submitted from the cricket community via public nominations
  • The crucially important members of the American cricketing community have been recognized with awards presented across 5 different categories

USA Cricket is delighted to announce the winners of its inaugural Volunteer of the Year Awards that recognize the commitment, dedication, and excellence among the lifeblood of the American cricketing community, the volunteers.

Volunteers have long played a vital role at all levels of the sport in this country and USA Cricket are excited to go some way to publicly recognizing their invaluable contributions with these awards. USA Cricket has appointed a great number of volunteers who tirelessly support its youth, women’s and umpiring initiatives, and they deserve an enormous amount of thanks and praise.

There are thousands of other volunteers at all levels of the wider community that also deserve to have their contributions recognized. Through this process we are looking annually to identify and reward a small number of those volunteers who have been recognized in their local communities, and whose hard work and sacrifice in furthering the interest of our sport in the USA is to be celebrated.

Hundreds of nominations were submitted from the cricket community in late 2021 across 5 categories, with the winners having been selected as follows;

USA Cricket Volunteer of the Year Awards 2021

  • Match Official Volunteer Award – Rahul Patwardhan (North Carolina)
  • Coach Volunteer Award – Jay Singh (Connecticut)
  • Administrator Volunteer Award – Shafiq Jadavji (Atlanta)

USA Cricket would like to congratulate all five of the very worthy award winners and also give our sincere thanks to all of the volunteers throughout the wider American cricket community that continue to grow and promote the game nationwide.

We will collect nominees for the 2022 USA Cricket Volunteers of the Year Awards in early December with an announcement confirming when the process will begin in due course.
