USA Cricket is delighted to announce the successful convening of its board meeting, which took place from September 27 to 28, 2024, in San Jose, California. All members of the current Board of Directors were in attendance, including Mr. Venu Pisike (Chairman), Ms. Nadia Gruny (Female Player Director), Mr. Srini Salver (Male Player Director), Mr. Anj Balusu (Board Secretary), Atul Rai (Club Director), David Hubert (Independent Director), Pintoo Shah (Independent Director), and Johnathan Atkeison (CEO, USAC).

During the meeting, Chairman Mr. Pisike provided an update on the recent ICC Compliance notice outlining the steps USA Cricket has undertaken and will continue to implement to achieve full compliance. Mr. Pisike also shared valuable insights from discussions held at the ICC AGM in Colombo Sri Lanka, which included updates from Associate member meetings and addressed concerns regarding the recently concluded T20 World Cup 24 and an ongoing ICC investigation.

Mr. Pisike informed the board that USA Cricket is leading collaborative efforts with other American regional member boards to explore the establishment of an ‘Americas Cup’ with support from ICC Americas. The initiative aims to enhance the popularity of cricket across the Americas. In addition, Mr. Pisike highlighted plans to revive the scheduling of the Auty Cup, one of sport’s oldest and celebrated rivalries.

The meeting also featured a report from the Treasurer on USAC’s financials for 2024, indicating a positive net income and cashflow forecasted by year-end.

During the meeting newly appointed CEO Mr. Johnathan Atkeison presented a series of strategic initiatives aimed at refreshing the organizational outlook and ensuring compliance with ICC and US Olympic Committee (USOPC) guidelines. These initiatives will reinforce the organization’s commitment to upholding high standards and fostering growth in American cricket.

Board meeting was centered on several key topics, including the USOPC application process, the ACE Contract, and high-Performance initiatives for both men’s and women’s cricket. The Board reiterated its commitment to becoming the National Governing Body (NGB) recognized by USOPC by continuing the already established application process.

The board discussed plans for high performance initiatives aimed at enhancing the performance of both men’s and women’s teams. These efforts focus on upcoming 2025 Women’s U19 World Cup and the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup, with the goal of improving the senior Women’s ranking and qualifying for the 2027 Men’s ODI World Cup. The board will finalize a detailed road map and budget for commercial contract and high performance programs, which will be presented at the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The following key resolutions were adopted from the board meeting.

1. Domestic Sanctioning Policy – Based on the feedback from various stakeholders, the board approved a revised Domestic Sanctioning Policy which will effect immediately.

2. Cricket South Africa MoU: The board welcomed the partnership with Cricket South Africa (CSA) to establish cooperation on future tour programs. The partnership aims to assist in the sustainability and development of cricket between the two ICC Members pathway programs.

3. 2023 Membership Dues: The board has written off all past dues for member leagues that committed to renew or establishing their membership in 2023 but had not pay their dues. Unless any of the leagues made a prior agreement with USA Cricket to renew their dues before June 30th, their membership lapsed end of 2023. The leagues are welcome to re-establish their Membership by registering on the current portal.

4. Constitution Review Working Group: The board established a working group to review and recommend amendments to the USA Cricket constitution. This working group will primarily focus on ensuring compliance with USOPC requirements, simplifying USA Cricket membership and identifying all other areas that require improvement.
