USA Cricket is pleased to be launching a new Intra-Regional hard-ball competition for Women’s cricket in 2021, which will be played between locally based teams across the country on weekends, beginning May 2021.
This is the latest step in the continuing development of Women’s cricket in the United States, supporting the strategic focus in 2021 on Women’s and Girl’s Cricket set out in USA Cricket’s Foundational Plan. These Intra-Regional matches are the first stage of a pathway which will lead on to Women’s representative Regional Events and the Women’s National Championships. More details will be announced on the overarching pathway in the coming weeks.
USA Cricket is calling on all women and girls aged 13 or older, wishing to play hard-ball cricket in these Intra-Regional matches, to register their interest here by the end of day Monday 26th April, 2021. Individuals can nominate themselves or be nominated by their club/team as part of a group nomination.
USA Cricket is committed to providing more playing opportunities for our female players. The establishment of Intra-Regional and Regional domestic cricket, combined with the expanded Women’s Training Groups is another important step in growing a robust and clear pathway for female players in the United States as we build towards two important ICC events for our Women’s National Team.
