Physical Performance Coach – Women’s Program

WA Cricket has an exceptional opportunity for an individual to join our High Performance team as Physical Performance Coach of our women’s programs.

About the Role

The Physical Performance Coach will lead and manage the physical performance programs for the WA Cricket senior and pathway women’s programs with strong focus on evidence based best practice athlete preparation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver evidence based best practice physical performance programs for the WA Cricket (WAC) women’s programs with a key focus on WA Women’s and Perth Scorchers WBBL squads
  • Attend all WA Women’s and Perth Scorchers WBBL training sessions and all home and away matches
  • Perform the role of Team Manager when touring with the WA Women’s and Perth Scorchers WBBL teams
  • Coordinate and manage the delivery of the physical performance program for the WAC Women’s Pathway Program
  • Monitor and manage athlete training workload variables that inform future training decisions
  • Utilise a range of technologies including Catapult GPS, Vald Systems, and GymAware to measure and monitor load and performance
  • Plan and implement physical performance testing programs that inform individual athlete programming decisions
  • Work in conjunction with team Physiotherapists and other key support staff to design and execute evidence based rehabilitation programs
  • Perform the administration duties required in the role which include inputting and reviewing physical performance test results, physical performance programs and athlete training workload plans on the Athlete Management System
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with medical and coaching staff to maximise player development and performance outcomes.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will need the following:

  • Expertise in injury prevention
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to develop and maintain a supportive and strong team environment.
  • Proven ability to plan and deliver results
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with an ability to positively influence and build strong stakeholder relationships
  • Well-developed IT and administrative skills
  • Bachelor’s degree (eg Human Movement or Sport Science)
  • Level 2 Australian Strength & Conditioning Association
  • Registration with ESSA and ASCA
  • 3 years’ experience in the provision of S&C services to elite athletes/sporting teams
  • Current First Aid/CPR accreditation

Highly Desirable

  • 5+ years’ experience providing S&C services to elite athletes
  • Experience working with Elite Women Athletes
  • Experience working in Cricket
  • Masters level or equivalent postgraduate qualification specialising in Strength & Conditioning
  • Research Experience
  • ASCA Professional Level 2 or Higher Accreditation
