Solihull-based commercial flooring specialists FLR Group have become the first 2022 members of Warwickshire County Cricket Club’s new business community, the Bears Club.

Having launched last year, the Bears Club brings together SMEs from across Birmingham and the West Midlands through events – including the annual golf day, the end of season gala dinner and hospitality at a Bears Vitality Blast match – with FLR Group taking the Gold category membership as part of a wider commercial sponsorship.

Bears Club Membership also includes sponsorship of selected Warwickshire players, with FLR Group securing five players through its expanded package, including England batter Dom Sibley, fast bowler Henry Brookes, batting all-rounder Dan Mousley, all-rounder Ethan Brookes and England U19s all-rounder Jacob Bethell.

Ben Seifas, Commercial Partnerships Manager at Warwickshire CCC, said: “FLR Group are very established commercial flooring experts, who are entering their 40th year operating in this region. We’re delighted to work with its team in this new commercial partnership.

“It is a forward-thinking company with sustainability and community at the centre of their focus. By partnering alongside each other, it’s hoped that we can make a lasting difference around the area.

Jeff Walker, FLR Group Director, said: “We’re coming into our 40th year now and it’s as though we’re starting a fresh. We are looking at new opportunities to grow, whilst giving back to the wider community. This partnership with Warwickshire will give us the chance to work alongside like-minded people as we look to develop our project. We’ve sponsored 5 of the boys, most of whom have come through the academy here, with the hope of supporting them to yet another fantastic season. Although we’re only just beginning, there’s so much room to develop and we’re looking forward to what lies ahead.”

“By bringing people together through cricket and events at Edgbaston Stadium, the Bears Club can be great catalyst for partnerships and collaboration amongst businesses in the West Midlands.

Ben Seifas

“We want the Bears Club to keep expanding and we’re delighted that FLR Group has renewed by becoming our first Gold package members for 2022. We’re looking forward to welcoming further likeminded businesses in the coming weeks.”
