Bio

Dr. Sarah Fane OBE is currently the director of Marylebone Cricket Club Foundation, a role she has held since 2020. The Foundation is the main focus for MCCs’ philanthropic activity, delivering impactful projects.

Previously, Fane was the CEO of Afghan Connection, a UK Registered Charity. She is credited with helping 500,000 children in Afghanistan in Health, Education and Cricket. 

Fane has been a Member of BAAG (British and Irish Agencies Afghanistan Group) since January 2010. BAAG, which is associated with MCC Foundation, is a unique advocacy and networking agency which aims to support humanitarian and development programs in Afghanistan. Fane has also been an Honorary Life Member of MCC (Lord’s: The Home of Cricket) since 2012.

Fane qualified as a doctor in 1988, having done MB ChB from University of Bristol.  She received an Alumni award from the University for Global Impact as well as an Honorary Degree for her work in Afghanistan  in September 2022. 

Fane was awarded an OBE in March 2013 for services to charity and in particular her services to the children of Afghanistan.
