Bio

Lisa Sthalekar is a prominent cricket executive and former Australian Women’s International. She represented Australia for over 11 years, announcing her retirement a day after winning the 2013 Women’s ODI World Cup. She featured in 187 matches across the 3 formats and was the vice-captain when she won the Women’s International Cricketer of the Year Award for Australia in February 2007.

She has been also serving as the Independent Director of Federation of International Cricketers’ Associations (FICA) since 2016.

Previously, Sthalekar served as an Executive Committee Member at Australian Cricketers’ Association for over 6 years, while she was a director of women’s ICL for 4 years.

Sthalekar served Cricket New South Wales (NSW) for over 10 years, during which she was the Youth Program Manager for more than 8 years, leaving in June 2014, before representing Sydney Sixes in the WBBL from June 2015 to February 2017.

Sthalekar was also the director of coaching at Mosman Cricket Club (Male) from May 2016 to May 2018, where she oversaw the coaching program/structure for one of Sydney’s Premier cricket clubs.

Sthalekar is also an experienced broadcaster, and has been doing commentary for Indian Premier League broacasts since April 2015. In addition, she did commentary in BBL and WBBL for Network 10 Australia from December 2015 to April 2018. 

Lisa Sthalekar is currently a Board Member of the Chappell Foundation, where she raises funds and creates awareness for frontline organizations who are working to provide refuge, nourishment and a better future for homeless youth. She has been in this role since October 2017. 

Sthalekar has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology and Religious studies from University of Sydney.
