Bio

Naasei Appiah is currently the Chief Operating Officer for Cricket South Africa, a role he has held since October 2017. In this role he is tasked with overseeing the execution of business strategy to achieve Cricket South Africa’s goals, generating new business opportunities and securing sponsorships, broadcast and commercial deals globally.

Appiah has been with Cricket South Africa since 2010, previously holding the roles of Chief Financial Officer and acting CEO. He was part of the negotiating team that concluded a US$230 million international media rights deal.

Appiah was the Tournament Director of the Champion Leagues T20 in September 2012. He provided leadership on a $850m, 10-year venture between cricket South Africa, Cricket Australia and the Board of Control of Cricket in India.

A Chartered Accountant by training, Appiah worked at Deloitte for over 6 years, during which he was an Audit Manager. He managed a wide portfolio of clients including listed and unlisted companies. Among the clients he managed were Imperial Logistics, Emerald Casino and Cricket South Africa.

Appiah also served ABAKAH & CO. (Chartered Accountants SA) as an Auditor and Accountant where he audited accounts for Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) and Government departments and also provided accounting and tax services for SMMEs.

Appiah received a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) and a Certificate in the Theory of Accounting (CTA), with a focus on Accounting, Auditing, Finance and Taxation from University of Johannesburg in 2003.
