Bio
Nizam Uddin Chowdhury is the Chief Executive Officer of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), a role he has held since August 27, 2014. He has also served as BCB’s Acting CEO on two different occasions in the past, first from February 2008 to August 2010 and then from January 2012 to August 2014.
Chowdhury has served for over two decades at the BCB as a Cricket administrator, having first taken up a role with the then-Bangladesh Cricket Control Board (BCCB) in the year 2000, including the role of General Manager.
Chowdhury has been a central figure in the development and progress of Bangladesh Cricket, overseeing the successful hosting of prestigious ICC and ACC events in Bangladesh, which included the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, ICC World T20 in 2014, ICC Under 19 World Cups in 2004 and 2016, and multiple Asia Cups.
Chowdhury also represents Bangladesh on the ICC Chief Executives’ Committee, having previously represented them from 2008 to 2010. He is also presently part of the Executive Board of the Asian Cricket Council as an ex-officio, serving the Executive Board as an ex-officio twice in the past from February 2008 to August 2010 and January 2012 to August 2014.
Chowdhury holds a Master’s degree in Management, graduating in 1992.
