Bio
Pankaj Khimji was named the Chairman of Oman Cricket in May 202. Khimji succeeded his father and Oman Cricket’s founding Chairman, the late Kanak Khimji, who passed away in February 2021.
Khimji was a long serving board member of Oman Cricket prior to being named the Chairman.
Khimji is tasked with the growth of Oman Cricket and development of its infrastructure.
Khimji is the official representative for Oman Cricket at the annual ICC Meetings. He also serves the Asian Cricket Council as the Vice President, a role he has been performing since April 2021. Previously he served on the Asian Cricket Council’s development Committee as the Chairman.
Khimji is also the Director of Associate Members of ICC. He is one of the two Associate Member Directors along with Neil Speight. He replaced Mahinda Vallipuram and will serve for 2 years.
Khimji, an active member of the World Economic Forum, is a 5th Generation Business Leader of the Khimji Ramdas Group, where he has been a director since February 1999.
Khimji is by training a building construction engineer from the UK, having graduated from Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College.
Khimji is a regular member of the Ministry of Manpower’s delegation to the Annual International Labour Organization Conference (ILO) in Geneva and he has been granted the prestigious Global Leader of Tomorrow (GLT) award.
Khimji has an interest in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and is also a Board Member of Sharakah, a pioneering SME funding and mentoring organization of the Omani Sultanate.
