Bio
Richard Bevan OBE has been the Chairman of the Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) since its inception in 2013.
In addition, Bevan has served as Chief Executive Officer at the League Managers Association (LMA) since 2008. He also serves as the Chair of the LMA in the Game Charity since 2007. The LMA is the voice of professional football managers, past and present in England and Wales.
Bevan has over 20 years’ experience in sports administration. He started off as a commercial Manager at the Professional Cricketers Association (PCA) in 1996, where he helped build the PCA from an organization with no employees to one with 20 staff and a turnover of £5 million. He was eventually promoted to Chief Executive Officer of the PCA, where he helped establish focus on personal and career development of professional cricketers.
Bevan has been a trustee of Team England Player Partnership (TEPP) since 2001. The organization under him has transformed the lives of England players with the introduction of central contracts.
Bevan is also a Board Member of Sport United Against Dementia (SUAD), a platform which brings together leaders from across football, cricket and rugby to use the power of sport to help those with dementia by working with sports clubs across the UK. He works in tandem with Greater Manchester’s ‘Shining Light on Suicide’ Campaign to help raise awareness of suicide and increase prevention.
Richard Bevan was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honors for his services to football in June 2022.
