Bio

Sanjay Patel joined the England & Wales Cricket Board in 2014 as Commercial Director. He then further served as Chief Commercial Officer and in 2018, combined this role with being the Managing Director of the ECB’s new domestic T20 competition, The Hundred. Since January 2019 he has focused solely on developing the competition.

Patel was previously working in the beverage and spirits industry in multiple roles. These included Strategy & Planning Director and Brand Unit Director of Cider portfolio at Heineken; brand director for Baileys and Global Marketing Manager for Gordon’s Gin at Diageo; and other roles at Scottish & Newcastle and Caledonian Brewing Company Ltd.

He attained his Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1995 from the University of Edinburgh.
