Bio

Simon Hughes is an author, commentator, film producer, and former cricketer who is known in the cricket industry as The Analyst – an expert at using videos and graphics to closely analyze sporting performance.

Simon Hughes is also a freelance Executive Producer at Starfield Films for over 3 years, writing and producing a documentary on England winning the 2019 World Cup. Hughes is also a public speaker through The Analyst Corporate since September 2017.

Hughes was previously an English County cricketer, having represented Middlesex for 11 years and Durham for a year.

Before his entrepreneurial ventures, Hughes worked as an editor at The Cricketer Magazine for 5 years from 2016 to 2021, helping the magazine regain its financial footing. He also wrote for the magazine during the 1980s.

Simon Hughes has a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Anthropology from Durham University.
