Bio
Tavengwa Mukuhlani is currently the Chairman of Zimbabwe Cricket. He replaced Wilson Manase in August 2015 for his initial four-year term before being re-elected unanimously in June 2019 for his second four-year term.
Mukuhlani has previously served as Vice-Chairman of Zimbabwe Cricket between 2004 and 2011-12, alongside Peter Chingoka as head of the Board and Ozias Bvute as Managing Director.
Mukuhlani joined the Zimbabwe Cricket Board in the early 2000s, as the Chairman of the then Mashonaland Cricket Association. He is also credited with making the new ZC constitution.
Mukuhlani has been on the ICC Board of Directors for many years, representing Zimbabwe Cricket.
On Feb 19, 2023, he was named the Interim Vice-Chairman of the Africa Cricket Association (ACA) while the ICC co-opted him as a member of the ICC Finance and Commercial Affairs Committee. He also chairs the ICC’s Cricket Kenya Committee that has been helping Cricket Kenya in resolving its governance issues, including coming up with a new constitution.
Mukuhlani recently served on the ICC Audit Committee and chaired the ICC Membership Committee.
A Medical Practitioner, popularly Known as ‘Doc’ in ICC circles, Mukuhlani was named as a Member of the ICC’s task force in August 2021, spearheading a bid for cricket’s inclusion in the Olympic games from 2028 onwards.
