Bio
Wasim Gulzar Khan MBE is a former cricketer who subsequently pursued a career as a cricket administrator and executive
Khan currently serves as the International Cricket Council’s General Manager of Cricket, and was appointed to this role in May 2022.
Before joining the ICC, Khan served as Chief Executive Officer at the Pakistan Cricket Board for almost three years.
Before his international cricket roles, Khan held many senior positions in domestic cricket in the UK. These included four years as CEO of the Leicestershire County Club, over 11 years at the Cricket Foundation, including four as CEO. During that time he led the Cricket Foundation’s £50 million Chance to Shine campaign.
Khan was the first British-born Pakistani-origin Muslim to play professional cricket in England, and played for 10 years in high performance environments in England, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. He was a member of the double winning Warwickshire team in 1995.
In January 2015, Khan earned a Master of Business Administration from the Warwick Business School.
