The Six Gun Grill Western Province team will be kitted out in a proudly Cape Town brand, Laurus Sport, when the new domestic cricket season kicks off in just a couple of weeks’ time.

Established in 2015, Laurus Sport’s reach extends into Africa where they have partnered with a number of high-profile football clubs and organisations. All products are produced locally and everything from cutting to branding is done in-house at their Maitland factory. They are a brand which understands the game and continuously look to innovate in both product and design.

David Brooke, Six Gun Grill WP Brand and Sponsorship Manager: “With our new team playing under the WP banner, it’s incredibly exciting that our team will be wearing with pride the logo of a local Cape Town brand, a brand which is entrenched in the local community and is totally aligned with our vision of where we want to see the WP brand in the hearts and minds and day-to-day casual wear of everyone in the City. There is an emotional connection to the WP jersey, for players and supporters alike and we are looking forward to taking this journey with the team from Laurus Sport.”

“In another exciting development, from this season, for the very first time, our supporters will be able to buy merchandise online and our playing jersey will be available at selected Sportsmans Warehouse stores in the Western Cape and around the country on their online store,” Brooke added.

Laurus Sport’s Robin Hendricks expressed delight with the new partnership: “We’re extremely excited to welcome Western Province cricket to the Laurus family. It’s a great opportunity for us to work with one of the most historic and famous domestic teams in South Africa. We thank WP for putting their faith in a local brand to best represent what it means to not only play for Cape Town, but to embody the spirit and culture of its people.”

WPCA CEO Michael Canterbury believes that it’s the perfect fit for WP Cricket as we enter the new era in South African domestic cricket: “Our brand needs to be accessible to all and this is the perfect way to re-introduce the WP Cricket name to our stakeholders. I for one, can’t wait for that first live game at Six Gun Grill Newlands to witness supporters screaming ‘WP jou lekker ding’, kitted out in our new kit supplied by a proudly Capetonian brand Laurus Sports.”
