The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Safety Officer to join The Yorkshire County Cricket Club. Based at the iconic Headingley Cricket Ground in Leeds, the Safety Officer (SO) is responsible for ensuring that YCCC meets the legislation and regulation requirements to enable all activities and matchdays take place in a safe and controlled environment.
The SO will establish suitable systems and controls for the safety and security of spectators and all other persons in the stadium. Complying with the current document “Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds” (also referred to as The Green Guide), General Safety Certificate and the Club’s Spectator Safety Policy is central to this role.
The SO will report directly to the Chief Finance & Operations Officer and work closely with all stadium stakeholders and their teams to ensure that Headingley Cricket Ground is a safe and enjoyable place for all.
Please note, this role will often require weekend and evening work between the months of April and September.

About You
We are looking for people who meet the below criteria:
- Obtained N.V.Q. Level 4 Qualification in Spectator Safety Management
- Demonstrable and relevant experience in a spectator safety management role similar to this one, preferably within the sporting or entertainment industry
- Experience of leading the Safety and Security team in collaboration with the Stewarding Operations Manager’s and other departments effectively and efficiently to deliver great customer experience
- Previous experience of liaising and communicating clearly with both internal and external stakeholders in a high pressure environment
- An excellent understanding of the standards and compliance required of a spectator venue and for the delivery of a safe spectator event
