Cricket Scotland is today pleased to publish its largest and most comprehensive survey ever, giving everyone involved in the game an opportunity to help shape the future of the sport in Scotland.
Last year’s publishing of the “Changing The Boundaries” report, and the subsequent Governance Review, demonstrated that Cricket Scotland needs to change radically and continually improve as an organisation. However, the organisation recognises it is crucial that any change takes place following consultation from its members, players, volunteers, and communities. The governing body exists to serve its people – it is vital that its people have a say and an influence in how their game is run.
The link to the survey can be found here.
Cricket Scotland encourages all players, members, coaches, volunteers, parents, and anyone else associated with or invested in cricket in Scotland to take part in the survey. The results will form a central focus of the governing body’s planning of a new strategy for the game. The survey is anonymous; however, respondents will have the option to provide personal details should they wish to discuss their responses further.
Following completion of the survey, all respondents will be invited to enter a prize draw to win tickets to the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier taking place in Edinburgh in July (further details below) or Gray Nicholls vouchers for cricket equipment. An email address will be required to enter; data around the prize draw is being collated separately and will not be linked to survey responses.
Once the survey results have been collected and publicly announced, Cricket Scotland will then, with the assistance of the five regions, organise a series of public consultation meetings across the country through August and September to discuss the survey findings and debate the way ahead.
These meetings will be held at local clubs and communicated well in advance of taking place, and will be open forums which members, players and volunteers can attend and ask questions of the Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team. Only once these meetings have taken place will Cricket Scotland be ready to create a firm strategy for the game in Scotland.
This is your game – show us your voice, and help Scottish cricket move forward.
